Meanwhile
Another day around here...
-Was planning on gettin a ride in after tuning in the carb on the Trumpet today but a few other jobs poped up...
First off,my grinders all shit the bed at the same time Friday after I picked up the tubing to get goin on the Ho-matic.I was gonna rebuild that today.
My step-dad Jay has had an exhaust leak for over a year on his old Chevy SS S-10.Only made these a few years, 87/88/89 I think and he loves this piece of crap.He had a shop(Sullivan's) supposedly weld the leak last week but but they did a shitty job and just made a mess.No welding skill at all from the looks of it,just splatter and bubbles. He asked if I could take a look and instead of tryin to get in a tight spot with out a grinder I ended up wrapping it in that muffler bandage shit...Worked pissa!
Next Brother Gike, my step-bro stopped by and needed a bolt for his exhaust on the FLH.It wasn't that bad out but he decided to sport his suede face mask anyway.I think he likes that is looks like a cereal killer made it from the ass cheek of a victim and it scares kids.
later this afternoon I finally got to my shit.I changed over the banjo from a dual to a single and ran new fuel plumbing.Cleaned it up for now but I either want to get copper, clear or braided line...Fuck it,as long as it runs!
About 15 minutes after this the ol' lady needed me to give her a hand and then we were off to drop off the truck.Have to finish up my shit later.
We had an hour to kill so we took a ride up to Lowe's and scouted out some new tools. This Porter Cable will do just fine after getting rid of the guard and putting on a cutting wheel.Gonna get back to work on the Ho later on tonight, hope nothing comes up between now and then.

Project "Suck it" the third
Project "Suck it" the third
Done, well maybe...I got all the BS taken care of,made a few gaskets and bolted it up.The battery has been wussin out the last week or so so after a little boost off the charger I gave it a few kicks. The bitch started up just fine but the carb will need adjustment to make it run right.I was out there for 8 hours today pullin the motor off the Ho-Matic with Jimmy so I was good with it just starting up,I'll adjust it out tomorrow.
Here it is at last,my new Amal side draft manifold. I made it to accommodate the finned out carb extension that I got a while ago.I think I'm going to clean it up,make a better looking design and sell these,or maybe I the only one who thinks it's cool.Fuck it,I do like it and don't care if no one else does.

Pipe
Project "Suck It" part deuce...
Let's put it this way,I fucked up.After lookin at the pic's of day one I realized my mistake.I had planned on modifying the ports but after a closer look I came the conclusion that A: It wouldn't work with that size
tubing,it would be to wide. And B: I was pretty much building a pipe bomb!! Not good. Basically, the gas would have pooled up in there after running for just a minute and one backfire and it would have gone BOOOOOOOOOOOM! Or at least bang.
I headed out to the garage yesterday to take a look first hand at what I had done.Deciding to not die in a fiery dead I started over from the beginning.
First I had to bend a piece of 1" tubing in the bender.Maybe it was the cold,23 degrees, maybe it's cause I went to fast because of the cold, maybe it's because I went to tight with the bend or maybe it was the fact that this type of bender sucks but it ripped a hole in the back of the pipe.after a quick weld to fill it I got the flanges cut, sanded, drilled and welded on.After a quick reaming,a little graving and some paint it looks like this time it just might work.If you haven't figured out what this is,and no it's not something to do with the Mario Bro's franchise, yet I should have it mounted up and running buy this afternoon.Heading out now to see how the paint set up in the cold, doubt it.Should done after I cut some gaskets.See you back here at 1900.
Over and out.
I never claimed to be the sharpest tool in the shed but I'm sure I ain't the dullest!

Project "Suck It"-part 1
Project "Suck It"-part 1
Money's tight all over.I usually try and make due with what ever I have laying around for materials.Sticking to that and having a burst of ambition yesterday I started a new project that I've been wanting to try for some time.I'm not sure if this will work with what I'm working with but I'm gonna give it a shot.Even if it works but it don't look good I'll make a new one with better stock later on.
If you know what that is in the first pick, then looking at the second should explain. If you don't already know I'm gonna try and finish today, and when I put up those pic's you will get it.
More to come...

watchin
Keep one eye open for the man...
I got a mirror of some bike that got stripped at the shop a few weeks ago, some piece of shit bar clamp type.I found a good spot and hung it low where I can see under my leg, plus it keeps the bars clean. Now it don't look so obvious when I'm watchin for cops.
