Well Earl hit earlier than expected and I rode right into it.A sudden down pour spoiled that ride but that just means more time to get shit done in the garage.See you on the other side!

I doubt it but we are gonna get a storm.I think they call it "Earl".With 85mph winds and 6" of rain coming I'm sure there will be some cleaning up after this is over so for today,before this thing hits,I'm goin for a ride!

SB435 has been before the California legislature for some time and various motorcycle groups have been involved in its discussion, most opposed.
If this bill is signed into law by the governor you can expect it to be tried in other parts of the country.
Will this bill affect you or someone you know?
If you live in California and or know people who do, have them write, e-mail or phone the Governor’s office and ask him not to sign this into law.
If you do Not Live in CA contact the governor and let him know you have seen his television ads about visiting California and though you are considering it you will not if you can not ride your motorcycle there because of this law.
The fact that the Governor does own motorcycles does not mean he will not sign this bill into law. Remember it will not affect him or his motorcycles as no cop that wants to keep his job will ticket him.

SACRAMENTO — California lawmakers want to put a plug in the earsplitting roar from modified motorcycles.
The state Senate today voted 21-16 to pass SB435. The bill makes it a crime to operate a motorcycle manufactured after Jan. 1, 2013, that fails to meet federal noise-emission control standards.
Motorcyclists whose vehicles lack the proper U.S. Environmental Protection Agency label would be subject to a fine.
Supporters say many motorcycle owners modify their bikes to make them much louder, which in turn creates a public nuisance. Those modifications also allow the motorcycle to produce more harmful emissions.
Opponents of the bill say many aftermarket exhaust systems meet emission standards but aren’t labeled, meaning law-abiding riders could be unfairly ticketed.
The bill now goes to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who owns multiple motorcycles.

2nd Annual Backyard Build Contest

Hey Guys,
It's that time again!  We're holding our second annual C/N Online Bike Show so please head over to www.ChoppertownNation.com and upload pics of your latest build or just check it out. 

Simple rules, cool prizes, ANYONE can enter (and just look too.)



Rules:
1. We're not really into categories, but here's the three we decided on:
Chopper, Bobber, and Cafe.
2. Post two (2) pics under the appropriate category and tell us something about the build.
3. The bike MUST have been built by you or your buddies in your backyard or garage.
4. Pics can be posted for the next ten days: Aug 31st-Sept 10th.

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 in each category:
1st place gets a Lick's solo bag (Chopper and Bobber class), Set of Lick's bar end mirrors (Cafe class), Guilty Customs seat pan, Dickies workshirt, Lick's Jellies, and One World Tour DVD!
2nd place gets Dickies workshirt, Lick's Jellies, and One World Tour DVD!
3rd place gets Dickies workshirt and One World Tour DVD!
Special Mention gets a Biltwell lid.

One more dumb thing in a life doing dumb things!

I had a run in with a road gator last night and it busted the plate bracket on the Trumpet.I strapped it up and got it home so I could fix it up.After a little cutting,grinding and welding it was good as new.

After the ol' lady comes home and drags me out to a bar down the street to meet her boss and some of the people she works with.Long story short we got pretty shitted and went to bed late.

When I woke up I felt real tired still and couldn't get my eyes to open.It turns out that the little bit of tack welding I did with my mask off had fried my face so bad my eyes are wicked puffed up and swollen.This picture is after I had a wet rag on it for a few hours and it went down a little.WTF!
